Cable splice - Assembly

Final assembly of the electromechanical cable and fastening of the splice on the CTD rosette.

Published on May 17, 2026

Final assembly

The electromechanical cable is fastened to the CTD rosette frame with a stainless steel bow shackle connected to the self-tightening cable grip. The mechanical load transfer must carry the load so that the electrical splice is not pulled in tension.

The splice is then fastened to the outer frame of the carousel or rosette, generally using plastic cable ties. The assembly must avoid tight bends, direct stress on the solder joint and rubbing areas.

Securing the splice on the frame

Once the assembly is mounted on deck, check the cable routing, the absence of hard points, the fastening of the splice and the freedom of movement required during operations.

Assembly on deck, ready for use.

Before deployment, repeat the basic checks:

  • cable insulation with a megohmmeter
  • electrical continuity
  • supply voltage present with no load
  • correct instrument acquisition
  • mechanical fastening with no tension on the splice area
